Sandy and Garry began their journey in 1997, and ever since that beautiful summer day, have been working hard to offer you quality Adirondack chairs at an affordable price. And with a touch of Southern NSW Peace and quiet thrown in for good measure.
The Founders...
Garry McPake candidly admits he had never heard of an Adirondack chair when a client brought several to his furniture workshop for repair. Garry, who had worked as a mechanic and shipwright in his former lives, had moved to the NSW South Coast township of Berry more than 20 years ago. By the time he teamed up with Sandy in 2001, he had established himself as a fine furniture craftsman. They merged their two families and set up their Adirondack furniture business in Berry.
Ocean Country furniture/ Adirondack Chairs Australia was established in 1997 as furniture makers of designer pieces but now due to demand we focus just on our Adirondack range. We strive to produce a quality product at an affordable price. Our Adirondack Chairs continue a century old tradition of style and comfort that compliments our Australian lifestyle. Our customers are very important to us.
The Concept
“The problem with bespoke furniture is you are constantly in the design process, refining the product to make it absolutely the best,” Garry explains. “I said to Sandy that if I could just concentrate on making the one thing and getting it absolutely right, life would be much easier, Welcome our Adirondacks, We knew the design was right, we haven’t looked back since.”
25 Years Later...
After an incredible 25 years in business, Sandy and Garry have decided to pass the torch. They have enjoyed every step of their journey and are now ready to sit back and watch from the sidelines, in an Adirondack chair of course!

We are located in the peaceful coastal town of Shell Cove NSW, just a short drive north of Berry. We are blessed to live on this picturesque coastline and can't wait to share our products with the locals.
We are an incredibly close-knit family who love spending time together, surrounded by our nearest and dearest. Our kids keep us on our toes and their little faces remind us to smile every day. As a family run business, our main focus is exactly this, family.
